Exceptions Override
Always check the 11 Individual Exceptions first. If the 4 tiles perfectly match an exception (e.g. H4, L4, 5 with 7), force the placement and bypass all steps.
Look For Pairs
Apply Splitting Rules:
- Always split 2 pairs.
- Split Gee Jun if 6-4, 6-5, 6-6.
- Split Teen/Day to make 6/8+.
Teen & Day
Look for 7,8,9 to form Wong, Gong, or High 9. Teen prioritizes 9-8-7. Play these combinations over regular points.
Cheung Sum Bal.
Maximize Low Hand points.
Rule: If LH < 3 (or exactly 3 w/o High 6+ tile), maximize High Hand instead (HH must reach 7+ pts).
Rank Tie-Breakers
Step 4: LH ≤ 7 pts → Maximize LH Rank.
Step 5: LH ≥ 8 pts → Maximize HH Rank.
* Do not waste the Highest tile if point values remain tied.
